President Trump Welcomes Relatives of Shot National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence
Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.
He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

“Sarah was the individual that teachers desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.
The tragedy led the administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.
He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor mentioned on television.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with honor, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
