Strong cold-season gusts brought walls down onto fragile shelters housing Palestinians uprooted by war in Gaza, claiming the lives of no fewer than four individuals. These deaths highlights the perilous situation that continue after more than two years of devastating airstrikes and severe lack of aid.

Ceasefire Provides No Respite from Severe Weather

While a ceasefire has been active since last fall, humanitarian organizations state that Palestinians do not have the sufficient shelter required to survive recurring cold-weather events.

Medical staff at Shifa hospital, which received the bodies, said on Tuesday that the deceased include a pair of adult females, a young female, and a man.

Separately, the local health authority stated on Tuesday that a one-year-old boy succumbed of hypothermia during the night.

"The world has allowed us to experience loss of life in every possible way," stated a family member after the burial. "It’s true the bombing may have paused for now, but we have witnessed every conceivable cause of death in the world in the Gaza Strip."

Relatives Crushed in Shelter Collapse

As per Shifa hospital, 3 members of a one household — 72-year-old a man, his 15-year-old granddaughter, and his daughter-in-law — were killed when an 26-foot tall wall collapsed onto their dwelling in a coastal area of Gaza City. At least 5 additional people were hurt in the event.

Family members on that day began clearing the debris that had entombed their loved ones and rebuilding the temporary homes for those who remained.

Aid Distribution and Continuing Emergency

Another Cold Season of Struggle

Gaza’s residents of over two million individuals has been struggling to fend off the cold weather and bad weather at bay while enduring shortages of humanitarian aid and a absence of sturdier temporary housing, which is badly required during the colder season.
